My grandparents are survivors of the holocaust,and Armenian genocide. This piece is a prayer within itself.5:55-6:45 reminds of all the stories my grandparents would talk about the last gasp of breath before death,the feeling of seeing your loved ones killed before your eyes,question of faith!. Babies being thrown in the air shot infront of their mothers,rape to children helpless mother viewing. Maxim captures these feelings so well with the most complex piece of music.Bach is life!
